Marc Lamont Hill recently interviewed author Adam Johnson on the role of US corporate media in the ongoing violence in Gaza. According to Al Jazeera, Johnson’s discussion centered on how media coverage has influenced public perception and political responses to the situation.

The conversation highlighted the continued violations of the Gaza ceasefire, which was brokered by the US last October. Reports indicate that more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed, including at least 265 children, during these hostilities.

Johnson also addressed the tragic loss of Al Jazeera journalist Ahmed Wishah, who was killed during a recent attack on the Bureij refugee camp. His death marks a significant moment, as he is among more than 200 Palestinian journalists killed since the escalation of violence began on October 7, 2023.

The dialogue raised critical questions about the normalization of violence against Palestinians in Western media. Johnson’s new book, “How to Sell a Genocide,” explores these themes and examines the implications of media narratives on public attitudes towards the conflict.
