According to The Guardian, First Lady Melania Trump appeared at a White House Rose Garden event with President Donald Trump to announce an expansion of a foster care initiative.

Addressing the audience after the Trumps arrived early, Melania Trump appeared to acknowledge questions about her absence from public view. “Good afternoon. I heard you missed me. Here I am,” she said, prompting laughter from the audience.

The appearance came as the administration’s live political coverage also reported scrutiny over Natalie Harp, the president’s executive assistant, and a report that she had worked at the White House for nearly a year without routine security clearance before later receiving it.
