Arabic version: حفلة ستارفول في ملبورن تستقطب الجنيات وصائدي الظلام
According to The Guardian, Melbourne’s Starfall ball filled Melbourne Town Hall with creatures, fairies and dark hunters. Attendees joined a partner dancing class, took photographs with cosplayers and shook their wings on the dancefloor, while cosplayers reached for the stars as they took centre stage.
An organ recital set the scene for the gathering. Guests also posed for a 360-degree camera, enjoyed princess moments and gathered in an inner circle. A horned couple locked lips, while mythic creatures let loose on the dancefloor. Even fairies and princesses paused for a break.
Troy Hanns, dressed as King of the North, travelled from Newcastle in New South Wales to attend his first fantasy ball. He said most of his outfit came from Temu, while he obtained other materials from Spotlight and had a seamstress put the costume together.
Miss Wicked, a cosplayer and costumer-maker, described the ball as an opportunity to assemble an amazing outfit and have fun in a beautiful, opulent setting. Elsewhere, a tarot card reading took place in a quiet side room. As the event ended, one attendee’s dress was lifted by a friend to avoid the wet ground outside Melbourne Town Hall, while a fairy headed out into the night.
