Lionel Messi scored a late goal as Argentina secured a perfect record in Group J, finishing with three wins from three matches. This victory also marked Messi’s achievement as the first player to score in seven consecutive World Cup matches. Argentina’s latest win came with a 3-1 result against Jordan in Arlington, Texas.

According to Al Jazeera, England also advanced to the knockout stage after defeating Panama 2-0. Goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane helped England clinch the top spot in Group L, setting up a last-32 clash against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Atlanta on Wednesday.

The DR Congo made history by reaching the knockout rounds for the first time, following a 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan. This win allowed them to advance as one of the best third-placed teams in the tournament. Meanwhile, Colombia topped Group K after a goalless draw with Portugal, who will now face Croatia in the next round.

In other matches, Croatia secured second place in Group L with a 2-1 win over Ghana, eliminating Scotland from the tournament. The draw between Austria and Algeria confirmed Iran’s exit from the competition, as both teams moved on to the knockout stage. Austria will face Spain, while Algeria will meet Switzerland in the next round.
