Arabic version: القبض على ميك موندين على خلفية ادعاء اعتداء تاريخي

According to ABC News, prominent Indigenous elder Mick Mundine has been arrested in Redfern over a historical child sexual assault allegation.

Sex Crimes Squad detectives arrested Mr Mundine, the chief executive of Aboriginal Housing Company Limited, in Sydney’s inner south at about 7am on Thursday.

Police said the 79-year-old was taken to Newtown Police Station for questioning. Strike Force Millersburg was established in December last year to investigate allegations that Mr Mundine sexually assaulted a 15-year-old at Redfern in 1986.

Mr Mundine is the brother of late boxer Tony Mundine, who died in August, and the uncle of rugby league player turned boxer Anthony Mundine.
