According to Al Jazeera, Nikolay Mladenov, a top envoy for the US-led Board of Peace, has warned that Gaza could be “gone for good” without reconstruction, an Israeli withdrawal and demilitarisation in the territory.

Mladenov told Al Jazeera that Gaza faces the risk of irreversible loss if those conditions are not met. His warning focused on the need for reconstruction alongside Israeli withdrawal and demilitarisation.

The Board of Peace envoy also said worsening conditions for Palestinians could fuel another security crisis. The comments underline the link he drew between conditions in Gaza and future security risks.
