Mohamed Hage OAM progresses discussions on Free Trade Agreement with the UAE

Mr. Mohamed Hage, President and National Chairman of the Australian Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI), had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Ravi Kewalram, First Assistant Secretary and Chief Negotiator for DFAT, and Ms Alison Airey, Assistant Secretary of the FTA Services, Free Trade Agreements, and Stakeholder Engagement Division. The discussion focused on the ongoing negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the importance of this agreement in enhancing trade relations which will open new opportunities for Australian businesses in the Middle East.

Mr. Hage reaffirmed AACCI’s commitment to supporting the FTA process and ensuring the interests of Australian businesses in particular AACCI members are effectively represented. The meeting underscored the shared objectives of both DFAT and AACCI in advancing Australia’s trade interests in the UAE and strengthening our economic ties within the region.
