According to ABC News, Manly prop Nathan Brown has confirmed the 2026 season will be his last in the NRL, with the veteran forward looking to join Super League next year. Brown is off contract at the end of 2026 and will finish his time with the Sea Eagles as the club reshapes its forward pack.
The 33-year-old said he made the decision at the start of the season, allowing him to commit fully to Manly’s campaign. Brown, who made his NRL debut in 2013, is in his 14th season after playing for Wests Tigers, South Sydney, Parramatta, the Roosters and Manly.
Brown has been called in to start against the Dolphins on Friday night, his first starting role in two years, with Manly short of forwards. He is hoping to finish his NRL career in a finals series, although the Sea Eagles are likely to need victories in their final four games to return to the top eight.
He played two State of Origin matches for NSW in 2020 while at Parramatta and featured in the Eels’ 2022 grand final. Brown joined Manly on a train-and-trial deal in 2024 and is on track to reach 200 games this month.
Manly are managing further front-row issues, with Taniela Paseka expected to miss at least a fortnight with a knee injury. Ethan Bullemor remains sidelined with concussion, while Kobe Hetherington is out for the season with a biceps injury. Fellow prop Siua Taukeiaho is also out for the season after breaking his leg in two places in May.
