Arabic version: إصدار لقطات جديدة في تحقيق قتل كريس باغساريان
Police have released new CCTV footage as part of the investigation into the murder of 85-year-old Chris Baghsarian, who was kidnapped in February. According to ABC News, the footage aims to identify additional suspects involved in the case.
Mr. Baghsarian was taken from his North Ryde home on February 13 in what is believed to be a case of mistaken identity. His captors are alleged to have instead meant to have taken a relative of Sydney businessman Dimitri Stepanyan, who also lived nearby. Tragically, Mr. Baghsarian’s remains were found on a golf course at Pitt Town 11 days after his abduction.
The newly released footage shows three individuals walking near the safehouse in Dural, where Mr. Baghsarian was held captive. This follows earlier video evidence that captured three men entering his home during the kidnapping.
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon characterized the crime as a “heinous offence” and confirmed that two men have so far been charged with murder. The police are seeking to identify the individuals in the new footage, along with a blue Hyundai sedan believed to be linked to the kidnapping.
The vehicle was seen about 12pm on February 14, the day after Mr. Baghsarian’s abduction. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
