According to ABC News, North Melbourne has secured the AFLW minor premiership for a third consecutive season after defeating Richmond by 68 points at Windy Hill on Saturday.

The Kangaroos won 15.11 (101) to 5.3 (33), becoming the first AFLW club to finish on top of the ladder in three straight seasons. Captain Jasmine Garner led the result with 28 disposals and one goal as North Melbourne completed its campaign with an 11-1 record.

Richmond began strongly, kicking two of the opening three goals, but North Melbourne responded with the next seven majors. Ash Riddell had 32 disposals, Tahlia Randall kicked three goals, and Monique Conti collected 33 disposals for the Tigers.

North Melbourne enters the finals series having won its matches by an average of 43.2 points. The Kangaroos also defeated second-placed Geelong by 73 points earlier in the season.

In the other match, St Kilda ended its season with a weather-affected 7.9 (51) to 7.3 (45) loss to Port Adelaide, its 11th defeat. The Saints finished 1-11 and need either Collingwood or Essendon to suffer a massive loss to avoid last place. Port Adelaide finished level on points with eighth-placed Hawthorn but with a significantly lower percentage, ending its finals hopes.
