The NSW Opposition has repeated calls for further toll relief before any increases to tolls following a Government system error which led to duplicate transactions and some drivers being overcharged in their tolling account this month.

NSW Government released a statement yesterday apologising for the error which impacted 45,194 of the total 1.4 million E-TOLL customers.

Shadow Minister for Roads John Graham said:

“It’s bad enough having tolls go up every quarter – imagine also being charged twice for the privilege.”

“Over forty-five thousand drivers in NSW will have received a rude shock looking at their tolls bills this month.”

“We welcome the Department’s move to rectify this mistake but we’re urging the Premier and Roads Minister to finally do something about all the drivers across NSW who have been facing immense cost of living pressures thanks to the Government’s toll-mania even before these errors.”
