According to Cnbc, Oracle’s fiscal first-quarter revenue rose 30% to $19.35 billion, exceeding the LSEG consensus estimate of $19.14 billion, as demand for cloud infrastructure supported sales. Net income increased 60% to $4.7 billion from $2.93 billion a year earlier.

Cloud revenue climbed 62% from the prior year to $11.6 billion. Cloud infrastructure revenue jumped 121%, while cloud application revenue grew 10%. Oracle delivered an additional 850 megawatts of data center capacity during the quarter, booked more than $30 billion in further AI cloud contracts and delivered more than 300,000 graphics processing units to AI Cloud customers.

Oracle forecast second-quarter revenue growth of 30% to 34% and projected cloud revenue growth of 64% to 70%. The company also expects total revenue for fiscal 2027 to reach at least $90 billion.

The company has raised debt to support an expansive data-center buildout for AI workloads and now has $125 billion in debt. The investment is intended to expand capacity for contracted cloud demand from customers including Nvidia, Meta, OpenAI, Advanced Micro Devices and SpaceX’s AI business. Oracle reported negative free cash flow of $5.4 billion for the quarter, compared with negative $362 million a year earlier.

Oracle shares moved sharply on Friday, rising after the market open before closing nearly 2% lower. The stock remains down about 20% this year, reflecting concern over the scale of debt raised for its AI infrastructure expansion. Citi analysts reiterated a buy rating, describing the fiscal first quarter as solid and saying the results reinforced the bull case.
