Oz Arab Media Meets with the Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement

On March 30, 2023, a delegation from Oz Arab Media, led by director Mr. Remy Wehbe, paid a visit to the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) of Lebanon at Sydney branch President Charbel Dib’s residence in Concord. The purpose of the visit was to introduce Oz Arab Media and its goals in Australia and the Arab world.

During the meeting, Mr. Wehbe gave a comprehensive overview of Oz Arab Media’s objectives and introduced the members of the delegation. He emphasized the importance of providing impartial and unbiased news to the public, and assured the FPM delegation that any party mentioned in their news articles would have the right to respond and get their response published.

The FPM delegation brought up several valid concerns about the freedom and impartiality of the press. Mr. Wehbe, being a former member of the Lebanese army, addressed their concerns by emphasizing the importance of freedom of speech and press, as well as the need for journalists to report objectively without any external influence.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with Mr. Wehbe inviting the FPM delegation to attend Oz Arab Media’s first annual gala dinner on May 19 at the Doltone House in Bossley Park. The FPM delegation expressed enthusiasm and willingness to attend and support Oz Arab Media’s initiatives.

Overall, the meeting between Oz Arab Media and the FPM delegation was a productive and informative one, highlighting the importance of freedom of the press and impartial journalism. The invitation to attend the annual gala dinner provided an opportunity for the two organizations to further build their relationship and work towards common goals.
