Arabic version: معاناة الفلسطينيين تُهمل في ظل صفقة إيران

The ongoing violence in Palestine remains largely unreported, overshadowed by recent developments regarding Iran. According to Al Jazeera, many in the West are unaware of the escalating Israeli aggression in the occupied territories, including the heartbreaking case of seven-month-old Sam Fahd Abou Haikal, who was killed by Israeli soldiers near Hebron in the occupied West Bank on June 6, 2026.

Despite a supposed ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli military actions continue unabated, with more than 2,000 documented violations since its implementation and at least 981 Palestinians killed, many of them children. The situation in Gaza is dire, with rampant starvation and restricted access to essential resources, as aid is manipulated by the Israeli authorities.

Recent reports indicate that Israeli forces have expanded their control over Gaza, pushing boundaries and restricting Palestinian access to their land. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly discussed these territorial gains, indicating a systematic approach to annexation under the guise of security.

This ongoing conflict is framed within a broader narrative involving Iran, which obscures the reality of Palestinian suffering. The narrative shifts focus away from the violence against Palestinians, branding them as threats in a larger regional conflict. This tactic serves to justify continued aggression and displacement, rendering Palestinian lives mere footnotes in a geopolitical struggle.

As the international community turns its attention to the Iran deal, the plight of Palestinians remains urgent and unresolved. The ongoing violence and territorial encroachments highlight that any peace in the region cannot be achieved while Palestinian rights and lives continue to be disregarded.
