Parramatta’s young people are in for a treat with a range of exciting free workshops and community events planned for Youth Week this month.
Running from 16-26 April, this year’s program aligns with the NSW Youth Week theme, Dream. Dare. Do. and brings together a packed calendar of activities designed to inspire, connect and empower young people aged 12 to 24.
From creative arts and sport to digital skills workshops, job-readiness support and community events, the program showcases the energy, talent and leadership of young people across Parramatta.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said Youth Week is a chance to celebrate the voices and contributions of young people while giving them real opportunities to grow.
“Youth Week is all about backing our future leaders to dream big and go after what matters to them,” Cr Zaiter said.
“This program creates spaces where young people can connect, build confidence, learn new skills and be part of something bigger in their community.
“We’re proud to support initiatives that not only celebrate our youth but actively involve them in shaping the future of Parramatta.”
The 2026 program is a true community collaboration with events delivered by Council, local schools, libraries and community partners.
Activities will be held across libraries, community centres, schools, public spaces and online, making it easy for young people across the City to get involved.
Council is also supporting Youth Week through a financial support program, helping local organisations and youth groups bring their own Youth Week ideas to life. These youth-led initiatives play a key role in the program and reflect the principles of Council’s Youth Inclusion Framework, ensuring young people are active participants.
All events are free but some require bookings or registration.
The full Youth Week 2026 program, including event details and how to register, is available on Council’s website.
