Arabic version: تم القبض على شريك زعيم العصابة الشهير في دبي
The partner of crime boss Steven Lyons was arrested in Dubai on the same day he was detained in Bali. Amanda Lyons was held over offences alleged to have been committed in Spain, following an Interpol red alert. According to BBC News, her arrest occurred on Saturday, coinciding with Steven’s detention at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport after arriving from Singapore.
Steven Lyons, 45, is the current head of the Lyons clan, a group that has been embroiled in a long-standing feud with the rival Daniel gang. His arrest in Bali was part of a larger operation that included a joint crackdown by Scottish and Spanish authorities, which resulted in eight arrests in Scotland and five in Spain. The request for Steven’s arrest reportedly came from Spain’s Guardia Civil, and he is expected to be extradited to Spain.
In a statement, a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed their awareness of Amanda Lyons’ arrest and stated that they are collaborating closely with European partners. The operation targeted multiple locations in Scotland and Spain, aiming to dismantle the criminal activities associated with the Lyons clan.
Steven Lyons has a history of violence, having survived a shooting in 2006 that killed his cousin, and more recently, his brother and a friend were murdered in Spain last year. The ongoing investigations into these incidents have prompted significant law enforcement activity, including Operation Portaledge, which has led to over 60 arrests in response to gang-related violence in Scotland.
