On the grounds of Picnic Point Public School in Picnic Point, the school celebrated its 60th Anniversary on Friday 22 October 2022 in a cocktail party which was attended by current and previous school staff, teachers, alumni, parents, and dignitaries.

Michelle Pearce of the P&C welcomed everyone including the principal, Ms. Karen Sellick who thanked the guests and the sponsors for all their support in making the event happen. There was also a reminder that the Festival, which would be open to the public, would take place on 28 October 2022 from 3 to 7 PM at the school.

The event included speeches by many people including Wendy Lindsay MP for East Hills and David Elliott, NSW Minister of Transport & school alumnus. In his speech, he recounted a variety of funny and heartwarming incidents and firsts which he experienced during his time at the school. He also congratulated the current team for all their achievements and for the school’s 60th. Other dignitaries who attended the event were Councilors Charbel AbouRaad and Barbara Coorey of the council of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown.
