According to ABC News, police are investigating alleged AI-generated explicit material falsely depicting members of the A.B. Paterson College community on the Gold Coast.

In a letter to parents on Thursday afternoon, principal Joanne Sheehy said the content was found in a former secondary teacher’s school digital account. She said the material was secured, quarantined and access was limited to what was required for police and legal purposes.

Ms Sheehy said all of the material had been handed to Queensland Police. Police were contacted for comment.

The teacher was immediately dismissed following an internal investigation into a “serious matter” in October 2025, Ms Sheehy said. She said the college had continued to support the police investigation and that Queensland Police were contacting some members of the community.

There was no evidence the AI-generated material had been shared, Ms Sheehy said. The college also notified relevant statutory and regulatory bodies, including the Queensland College of Teachers and the Office of the eSafety Commissioner.

A.B. Paterson College is a co-educational private school in Arundel for students from Prep to Year 12.
