Police are searching for a person who has sent threatening letters to politicians and religious organisations for more than a decade. The letters, which number over 100, have been attributed to an individual known as ‘Scorpio’ or ‘Bullit’. Authorities believe this person is in their 60s and are calling for public assistance to identify them.

According to ABC News, the letters have raised significant concerns regarding public safety. The New South Wales Police’s Security Investigation Unit has initiated Strike Force Yewrangara to investigate the correspondence, working alongside the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

The letters feature distinctive printed handwriting with prominent capital letters, particularly ‘F’, ‘L’, ‘T’, ‘N’, and ‘H’. The author has also included newspaper clippings and images related to national affairs and community interests, indicating a pattern of obsession with significant issues.

Superintendent Nathan Robertson from the AFP emphasized the importance of preventing any potential escalation into dangerous behaviour. He expressed concerns not only about the criminal nature of the letters but also about the mental health of the individual responsible. Authorities are urging community members to come forward if they recognize any symbols or names from the letters that could lead to identifying the suspect.
