According to ABC News, authorities have issued a fresh appeal for help identifying victims linked to Sydney childcare worker Hamish Tait, who is facing 329 charges over the alleged abuse of more than 130 children. The alleged offending is said to have occurred between 2009 and 2025, and the matter remains before the courts.

The charges include 162 counts of producing child abuse material, 81 counts of filming a person engaged in a private act without consent, and 24 counts of using a child under 14 years for the production of child abuse material.

The Australian Federal Police launched the additional call-out after confirming that two children shown in images taken at a Rouse Hill childcare centre were already known to detectives. Police are still seeking to identify a child photographed from behind at a Putney childcare centre about January 9, 2018, who was wearing a two-tone T-shirt.

Investigators also want to identify a male child shown in images found on electronic devices seized under Operation Moonbi. Those images were taken between March 2020 and July 2025. The child was wearing Bluey-branded underwear and appeared to have a distinctive freckle or mole. The AFP said it would not release the images for sensitivity reasons.

AFP Detective Acting Inspector Emmanuel Tsardoulias urged people to consider the dates, locations and descriptions, saying that any clue could assist victim identification. Police previously said Tait had worked at or attended 62 childcare centres, while they believe the alleged offending occurred at four Sydney centres and at Wild Earthlings in Glenorie.
