According to ABC News, police are searching for a group of offenders who allegedly broke into Melbourne’s Bundoora Park Farm, stole a tractor and used it to ram the front doors of the site’s cafe, causing significant damage.

Investigators said the group arrived at the council-run urban farm in Melbourne’s north on e-bikes at about 12:15am on Sunday, 20 September. Police allege they broke into several sheds and stole garden tools before taking the tractor.

The tractor was then used to ram the cafe’s front doors, police said. When an alarm sounded, the group fled on the bikes, leaving the tractor behind with its engine still running.

Bundoora Park Farm said on social media that it had closed at the start of the previous week because of “significant vandalism”. The farm said all of its animals were safe and well. The site provides agriculture and horticulture educational programs, as well as functions, work experience and animal handling.

Investigators have released footage of the ram raid and are urging anyone who saw the group in the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
