Federal prosecutors on Thursday accused rapper Pooh Shiesty and eight others of robbing three men at gunpoint and kidnapping them in January in Texas after a contract dispute involving rap star Gucci Mane’s record label. The incident occurred in January in Texas, where three victims were allegedly confronted with firearms during what they believed to be a business meeting.

According to The Guardian, the victims traveled to Dallas to meet with Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr. Prosecutors claim Shiesty orchestrated the meeting to discuss contract terms but instead led a violent takeover at a recording studio.

The confrontation reportedly escalated when Shiesty demanded that the label owner sign termination paperwork under duress, brandishing an AK-style pistol. He allegedly stole the victim’s wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash during the altercation. The other two victims were also threatened, with one being choked to near-unconsciousness.

Authorities arrested eight of the nine defendants involved in the incident. Shiesty was on home confinement at the time due to a previous firearms conspiracy conviction out of Florida. Investigators utilized electronic monitoring data, surveillance videos, and social media evidence to build their case against him and his co-conspirators. The case continues to draw attention within the music industry, highlighting ongoing issues of violence and conflict in the hip-hop community.
