Brentford are close to signing Mali midfielder Mamadou Sangare from Lens. The 24-year-old has left Lens’ pre-season tour of Italy and his move is imminent, L’Equipe reports. Fulham, meanwhile, have agreed deals to sign Spain forward Gonzalo Garcia, 22, and midfielder Cesar Palacios, 21, from Real Madrid for a combined £43m, according to The Athletic.
Manchester United are preparing a bid for Newcastle and England defender Lewis Hall, 21, Teamtalk reports, with Racing Santander’s 19-year-old Spanish player Jorge Salinas viewed as a possible alternative. United have also held talks with San Lorenzo and Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill, according to the 26-year-old’s agent.
Elsewhere, Coventry City are finalising an agreement with Brighton for English goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, 25, after he spent last season on loan with the Sky Blues.
