A new photograph of Prince Louis has been released to celebrate his eighth birthday. The image, taken during a family holiday in Cornwall, features the young prince smiling on a boat, dressed in a blue zip-up jumper with the sea in the background.
According to BBC News, the photograph was shared on social media by the Prince and Princess of Wales, who expressed their birthday wishes with the message, “Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!” accompanied by a red balloon emoji.
The photo was taken by photographer Matt Porteous earlier this month. Porteous has received royal commissions in the past from Prince William and Catherine, including for behind the scenes moments from Louis’s christening. This latest image continues the tradition of documenting significant family moments.
Born on April 23, 2018, Prince Louis is the youngest child of Prince William and Catherine, following siblings Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10. Although he is known for his playful demeanor, Prince Louis typically attends fewer royal engagements, showing up at notable events like the Trooping the Colour Parade and Easter Sunday celebrations.
