According to BBC News, European champions Paris St-Germain will face Manchester City, Aston Villa and Barcelona in the league phase of this season’s Champions League. PSG will host Barcelona at Parc des Princes and travel to Villa Park and Manchester.
Premier League champions Arsenal have been drawn at home to 15-time winners Real Madrid and away to Bayern Munich. Mikel Arteta’s side will also play Borussia Dortmund, Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Azerbaijan champions Sabah and Slavia Prague.
Manchester City will welcome PSG to Etihad Stadium and visit Barcelona, where they will meet Rodri following his £65m summer move to Nou Camp. Napoli’s visit to Manchester will bring another reunion with former City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne. City also face Sporting, Porto, RB Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens.
Europa League winners Aston Villa will host PSG and Dortmund, while travelling to Barcelona and Galatasaray. Manchester United will play Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Sporting, Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como. Liverpool’s opponents include Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Porto, Club Brugge, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Lens and LASK.
Each of the 36 teams plays eight different opponents, with four home matches and four away. The top eight qualify directly for the last 16, while teams ninth to 24th enter a two-legged knockout play-off. The league phase begins on Tuesday, 8 September and concludes on 27 January 2027; the exact schedule is due on Saturday. The final will be held in Madrid on 5 June.
