Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions following a meeting with scientists. The instructions include improving the quality of teaching in schools and colleges and attracting personnel to scientific institutions.
The instructions were given following a meeting of the Council for Science and Education and a meeting with mega-grant recipients and leading scientists. The event took place on June 13 in Dubna.
According to the Kremlin press service, the approved measures include:
formation of federal projects for the development of high-tech technologies and advanced training and retraining of qualified personnel;
improving the quality of teaching mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology in general education and professional educational organizations;
development of a unified program to attract leading scientists and young researchers to Russian universities and scientific organizations under the mega-grant program;
taking measures to attract leading researchers and specialists (including foreign ones) to participate in scientific research and development.
At a meeting with scientists, Putin, in particular, announced a decision to increase funding for the mega-grant program to 100 million rubles per year and extend its terms.
