Arabic version: إدانة إخوة العقارات في قضية بارزة للاتجار بالجنس
Tal and Oren Alexander, two prominent real estate brokers, have been found guilty of drugging and raping dozens of women over the course of decades. The brothers, aged 39 and 38, rose to prominence through their sales of luxury properties in New York and Miami. Along with their third brother Alon, 38, they were convicted of sex trafficking by a jury in New York.
According to BBC News, prosecutors accused the brothers of using their wealth to lure women to parties and luxury homes, where they allegedly took advantage of them. The defense claimed that the women were willing participants, but the jury found the brothers guilty on all 10 criminal counts, which included sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 6, and the Alexanders could face up to life in prison. Assistant US Attorney Andrew Jones described their actions as “calculated, brutal sexual abuse” and highlighted their lack of remorse during the trial. Eleven women testified against the brothers, including several who claimed they were minors at the time of the assaults.
Jurors were shown video evidence of Oren Alexander allegedly raping a drugged 17-year-old in his Manhattan apartment in 2009. Additionally, a new allegation surfaced during the trial when reality television star Tracy Tutor accused Oren Alexander of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 2024, a claim his lawyer dismissed as a “demonstrably false lawsuit for maximum media impact”.
US Attorney Jay Clayton stated that the verdict is an important step in the fight against sex trafficking, emphasizing the need to end such abuses in communities. The Alexanders had previously worked for Douglas Elliman and later founded their own firm, Official, in 2022. Alon Alexander was employed at the family’s private security firm, Kent Security.
