According to The Guardian, the Sydney Roosters completed a perfect NRLW season by defeating the Brisbane Broncos 30-6 in the grand final at Accor Stadium. The Roosters ran in seven tries and built an unassailable 26-0 half-time lead, securing their third premiership after winning all 11 regular-season matches and both finals.

The result narrowed the gap between the competition’s two most successful clubs. Brisbane have won four titles and the Roosters three, meaning the teams now account for seven premierships in the NRLW’s nine-year history. Sydney also responded to last season’s decider, when the Broncos upset the Roosters; that remains the Tricolours’ only defeat since August 2024.

Tarryn Aiken won the Karyn Murphy medal as player of the match, while fellow half Jocelyn Kelleher had a major early influence. Brydie Parker opened the scoring after Kelleher’s cross-field kick, and Kelleher’s kicking repeatedly pressured Brisbane. Aiken later combined with captain Isabelle Kelly, who set up Jayme Fressard, before Parker scored again and Amber Hall crossed to complete the first-half scoring.

Parker completed her hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining. Brisbane’s only try came in the 63rd minute through Jesse Southwell, after Tamika Upton found space down the middle. The defeat ended Ali Brigginshaw’s playing career in disappointment, while retiring Roosters players Millie Elliott and Corban Baxter finished with a premiership. Elliott said the loss in the previous grand final had been used as motivation throughout the season.
