Arabic version: راسل يتفوق على فيرستابن ويحقق الفوز في باكو

According to ABC News, George Russell won the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku by 0.196 seconds from Max Verstappen, securing his third victory of the season. Russell led from start to finish for the first time in his Formula 1 career.

Russell’s margin was threatened on the final lap when Valtteri Bottas crashed in the old town section, bringing waved yellow flags. Russell said he lifted off the power and then had no turbo when he resumed, allowing Verstappen to close quickly before running out of time.

Verstappen, who started eighth, finished second after moving up following a safety-car restart. Isack Hadjar completed a double Red Bull podium in third, while Charles Leclerc was fourth. Kimi Antonelli recovered from 16th on the grid to finish fifth.

Oscar Piastri’s race unravelled on lap 40. The Australian had started third and was running in third before locking both front wheels while defending against Hadjar, spinning into the run-off area and dropping to 15th. He eventually finished 14th.

Piastri said the lock-up took him by surprise and described it as a disappointing end after a strong first half of the race. His McLaren teammate Lando Norris retired on lap 36 after being caught in a Turn One collision involving Alpine drivers Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly following a safety-car restart.
