The SA Votes coverage was a winner at the 2022 SA Press Club Awards

It was an enormously successful evening for the ABC at the 2022 SA Press Club Awards.

The SA news team’s State election coverage “SA votes 2022” won Best Special or Extended Coverage of a News Event, Television Radio or Online.

Lincoln Rothall won for Best Camera News Coverage and Best Broadcaster Television, Radio or Online for his incredible coverage out of Ukraine.

He was also highly commended in the categories of Best News Photograph, which was won by ABC colleague Che Chorley, and Best Features Photograph, which went to the ABC’s Bec Whetham.

Whetham, from ABC South-East SA, was also named Young Journalist of the Year.

Isabel Dayman won Best Long-Form Television Report, Eric Tlozek Best Finance or Business Reporting and Evelyn Leckie and Trent Murphy Best Regional or Rural Reporting for “A Second Chance”.

Best News Feature, Podcast or Long Form Radio Report went to ABC Radio Adelaide for “Big red car road trip”.
