On Friday, 12th July 2024, the Saint Nehmetullah Center in Appin hosted its highly anticipated Annual Dinner Dance at the Renaissance Westella Piano Room in Lidcombe. The event, which ran from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM, was a resounding success, bringing together a vibrant community of supporters and friends. Attendees enjoyed an evening filled with joy, community spirit, and charitable giving, highlighted by a delightful array of food and entertainment.
The evening began with a warm welcome, expressing gratitude to the Lord Jesus for the blessings bestowed upon the community and for bringing everyone together. The monks of St Nehmetullah extended their heartfelt thanks to their close friends and supporters for their faith, love, and unwavering support over the years.
Special acknowledgements were made to Fr Assad Lahood, The Superior of St Charbel’s Monastery, for his dedication and support, and to Fr Quzhaya from St Rafqua for his spiritual guidance in the construction of the new church. The event also recognised the support of the Lebanese Forces, the Kataeb, and the Maronite Catholic Society.
The night would not have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors: Tony Sleimen, Charlie and Collet Assaf, Anthony Saba, Danny Maroud, George Shad, Alex Mullin, and Morris Takchi. MC Fred Frangie was also praised for his undeniable support and dedication, always finding the time to help regardless of his busy schedule. The community’s assistance in making the event a memorable success was deeply appreciated. The event reflected the charity of love that St Paul speaks of in his letter to the Corinthians (13:7), embodying the divine gift from God that invites everyone to love Him and their neighbours.
