According to ABC News, Rugby Australia has added women’s and men’s sevens fixtures to an international rugby program at Sydney’s Stadium Australia on October 17, creating a Bledisloe Cup quadruple-header.

The Wallabies will host the All Blacks in the Bledisloe Cup Test, while the Wallaroos will face Scotland for the first time in a WXV Global Series match. Australia’s world champion women’s sevens side will play New Zealand, and the men’s sevens team will take on Fiji, described as two-time Olympic gold medallists.

The Wallaroos will open the program, followed by the men’s and women’s sevens teams. The Wallabies will finish the day with a late-afternoon kick-off at the venue set to host next year’s World Cup final.

Rugby Australia chief executive Phil Waugh called it “an historic moment for Australian rugby”, saying all four Teams In Gold would compete “on the same pitch, on the same day”. He said the schedule would showcase elite male and female players in both the XVs and sevens formats against international rivals.
