Arabic version: اعتقال ستة آخرين بعد احتجاجات ساوثهامبتون على جريمة قتل نوك
Six men have been charged with violent disorder following protests in Southampton related to the murder of Henry Nowak. According to BBC News, the protests erupted after the release of police bodycam footage depicting Nowak, an 18-year-old, being handcuffed after he had stabbed Vickrum Digwa, 23, who was jailed for life on Monday.
The charged individuals, aged between 22 and 38, include four residents from Southampton, as well as one from Gosport and another from Romsey. They have all been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court later.
This latest development brings the total number of individuals charged in connection with the protests to 11. Among those previously charged are three men who pleaded guilty to violent disorder during hearings in Southampton and Portsmouth.
Henry Nowak was a first-year accountancy and finance student at the University of Southampton. He was fatally stabbed in December by Digwa, who falsely claimed he had been racially abused and had acted in self-defense.
