More than 400 Students have been stopped from getting government scholarships by Education authorities in Egypt . This came after the long delay of tuition payments by the government of South Sudan.

Through their statement, the students said the Education authorities in Egypt have ordered all the Universities across the country to allow access only to those who have cleared their tuitions and to reject any students who did not complete the payments of their fees until all payments are done. The statement also mentioned that not all students have been granted accommodations, especially those who were denied to join the colleges, while management repeatedly asked those who managed to live in hostels to pay.

The students called on the government in South Sudan to clear their tuitions in Egyptian higher education institutions. According to the statement received by this news platform, the students’ leadership council had previously held a meeting with officials of the Embassy of South Sudan who had promised them to wait until February 2022; however, there has been no news since. The Government is yet to respond regarding the matter.
