Split Enz, New Zealand’s first internationally successful rock group, is reuniting for their first tour in 17 years. The band, known for their catchy tunes and theatrical performances since their debut in 1972, will kick off their national tour soon. According to The Guardian, the tour will feature concerts in their home town of Auckland before heading to Australia.

Bandleader Tim Finn expressed optimism about the possibility of a new album, stating, “I think we’d make a really good record now.” While he noted that plans for new material are still distant, he hinted that the band is open to future projects. The group has seen a resurgence of interest, fueled by a new box set titled ‘Enzyclopedia’ and a series of vinyl reissues of their albums.

Finn and percussionist Noel Crombie reflected on their colorful history and the unique visual style that defined their performances. Crombie, who was instrumental in the band’s artistic direction, shared his excitement about returning to the stage and the creative process behind their iconic looks.

The band’s setlist for the tour will primarily consist of greatest hits, allowing them to connect with both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners who may be experiencing Split Enz for the first time. With their vibrant performances and classic songs, the band aims to captivate audiences once again.
