In an unprecedented effort from any council in NSW to support local businesses in accessing the marketing potential of the digital age, the council of the City of Canterbury Bankstown launched Studioventure on Thursday, 7 July, 2022.
In short, Studioventure is a photo, video, and podcast studio which is available for businesses to hire at a very affordable rate. The studio is also equipped with a green screen and many cameras to provide a variety of angles depending on your needs. Not only that, but it also includes editing and production services, which usually costs businesses hundreds of dollars per hour if hired elsewhere. At Studioventure, costs start at $25 per hour for Non-Profits, $40 per hour for businesses registered within the LGA, and $80 per hour for businesses coming from outside the LGA. Additionally, any business who is less than 24 months old and is in the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA will qualify for 5 hours of free access to the studios. The only requirement for any business to be able to use Studioventure services is to have an active ABN.
In his welcoming speech, Clr. Khal Asfour, the Mayor of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown introduced the facilities and explained that with more than 38,000 businesses registered in the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA, which is the second largest number after those registered in the Sydney LGA, support from council in marketing these enterprises and helping them reach a much wider audience is definitely a welcome advantage. Antoinette Khalil, representative of the Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce welcomed the initiative and encouraged all businesses in the LGA to take advantage of this unique opportunity to up their game and succeed in their businesses.
After the welcoming and introductory speeches, event attendees were taken for a tour of the facility which is accessible through the Bryan Brown Theatre and adjacent to the BLaKC Café on the corner of Rickard and Chapel Roads in Bankstown.
