According to Allafrica, Sudan’s Finance Minister Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aatty, discussed strengthening cooperation and exchanging financial-policy expertise between relevant authorities in the two countries.

The meeting was held in Khartoum on Sunday and considered ways to deepen economic, trade and investment cooperation. The two sides also discussed facilitating trade movement and increasing the volume of bilateral trade.

They explored expanding joint work on infrastructure rehabilitation, particularly roads, transportation and the health sector. The discussions linked these areas to Sudan’s early recovery and reconstruction efforts, including through Egyptian expertise.

Abdel-Aatty highlighted the importance of Sudan participating in the African Business Summit, organized as part of the El-Alamein Business Forum in Africa. He said the forum could provide a platform for African economic and investment partnerships, as well as opportunities to advance Sudan-Egypt cooperation and support Sudan’s development and reconstruction.

Egypt’s foreign minister also reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions, while rejecting attempts to partition the country. Both sides said they were determined to further strengthen historic relations and develop cooperation, especially in financial and economic fields.
