Sydney will host a powerful evening of awareness, advocacy, and hope this July as community leader Sonia Qutami presents the fourth annual anti–child trafficking event, the “Unchained Gala” Rescue Banquet Sydney 2026 Fundraiser.
Taking place on 18 July 2026 at Aria Wedding Venue in Wetherill Park, the gala aims to raise both awareness and critical funds to support rescue missions that work to free children from trafficking and exploitation across the world.
The theme “Unchained” symbolises the urgent call to break the chains of child trafficking and the generational cycles of exploitation that continue to affect vulnerable children globally. Organisers say the evening is about uniting people from all walks of life to declare that these chains can be broken and that restoration, healing, and freedom are possible when communities act together with courage and compassion.
Sonia, who has been organising these events for several years, describes the mission behind the gala as both simple and urgent: bringing darkness into the light. Funds raised through the evening will contribute to real rescue operations and raids carried out by organisations dedicated to freeing children from exploitation and providing them with opportunities for recovery, support, and a renewed future.
This year’s event will feature a compelling lineup of guests and speakers, including Barbara O’Neill and Michael O’Neill, alongside two individuals directly involved in frontline rescue missions. Attendees will also hear from a survivor of child trafficking and human exploitation who will courageously share their personal story, offering insight into the realities many victims face and the long road toward healing.
Organisers say the evening will be marked by honest conversations, powerful testimonies, and a deeper understanding of the global fight against exploitation. The event is designed not only to inform but also to inspire people to become part of the solution.
The Unchained Gala will run from 6:00 pm until midnight and will include a premium three-course dinner, live entertainment, and formal program, with guests encouraged to attend in formal attire.
While the issue of child trafficking is global, organisers emphasise that addressing it requires local communities to stand together. The event invites people from all backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and ages to unite under a shared purpose — protecting children and confronting exploitation wherever it occurs.

With awareness, courage, and collective action, the organisers hope the Unchained Gala will continue to shine a light on one of the world’s most pressing humanitarian issues and help restore hope to children who deserve a safe and free future.
