Dr. Rania Marwan Spano, an expert in Syrian international law, international arbitrator, and founder and president of the Arab and Syrian Women’s Leadership in the UK, stated that prioritizing mental health and social well-being is essential for navigating the crises faced by our Arab communities. Simply put, Arab women make up half of society; they are the caregivers and educators, playing a crucial role in upbringing. A significant number of women in these communities are also the primary providers for their families.

In her statements to the press today in Cairo, Dr. Spano emphasized the importance of a firm and conscious message. She affirmed that maintaining your mental health is not a luxury to be postponed; rather, it is the foundation upon which your dignity, decisions, and the stability of your life and family are built. Ignoring psychological pain doesn’t make it disappear; instead, it alters your mindset and burdens your spirit in silence. Thus, seeking psychological support is not a sign of weakness but rather a testament to strength and maturity. Consulting a mental health professional signifies that you have chosen yourself and decided to safeguard your life before pressures overwhelm you.

She extended her salute to every woman who fights through struggles, stumbles, and then stands back up, consciously supporting herself and recognizing that seeking specialist help is a necessary obligation, not a luxury. You are the cornerstone of your community; if you are well, everything around you will be well.

In conclusion, Dr. Spano stressed that it is the responsibility of Arab women to protect their local communities through positive coexistence and addressing current issues. This initiative stems from a place of complete mental health, and ultimately, she wishes well for everyone.
