For more than 50 years, Parramatta Mission has stood alongside some of the most vulnerable members of the Western Sydney community, offering not only immediate relief but also pathways toward long-term stability and independence.

At the heart of this work is Meals Plus—a vital service providing a safe, welcoming space for individuals experiencing, or at risk of, housing crisis. Open on weekdays, Meals Plus offers nutritious meals alongside access to essential services, including housing support, employment pathways, and community assistance through its dedicated Community Hub days.

For many, it is the first point of support during times of crisis. This includes individuals escaping domestic and family violence, refugees and newly arrived migrants, and those facing housing instability for the first time. Over the years, Meals Plus has grown into a trusted environment where people feel seen, supported, and given a renewed sense of hope.

Now, the community is invited to experience this impact firsthand through “A Place at the Table”, a unique fundraising dinner taking place on Friday, 15 May 2026.

Unlike a traditional gala, the evening offers an authentic and immersive experience. Hosted within the Parramatta Mission dining hall, guests will share a simple two-course meal inspired by the same menu served daily through Meals Plus. This approach creates a powerful connection to the reality of the service, grounding the evening in purpose and understanding.

Throughout the night, attendees will hear real stories, meet the people behind the service, and gain insight into the challenges faced by those navigating hardship and housing insecurity. The event is designed not only to raise funds but to deepen awareness and foster meaningful connection.

Corporate groups are especially encouraged to attend, with an open invitation to bring colleagues and clients along. By sharing the experience, attendees help amplify the voices and stories of those supported by Meals Plus, extending the impact far beyond the evening itself.
