According to ABC News, a 43-year-old South Launceston woman has been charged over what Tasmania Police allege was a “series of attempted poisonings”.

Police allege the woman delivered intentionally contaminated drinks to a 47-year-old man on several separate occasions over a period of months. The man and woman were known to each other, police said.

Police said the man did not consume the drinks and was not physically injured. They also said there was no indication that contaminated drinks had been sent to any other person.

The woman has been charged with two counts of attempted unlawfully administering poison with intent to harm. She has been detained to appear in court.
