Arabic version: تبون يحدد أولويات التعليم للعام الدراسي
According to Allafrica, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune called for recent gains in the national education sector to be used to support a successful and distinguished start to the 2026-2027 school year.
Chairing a Council of Ministers meeting on Sunday, Tebboune said the sector’s gains and benefits should be leveraged through systematic, well-planned management designed to ensure quality and performance.
The president instructed the Minister of Education to make effective use of the sector’s substantial human resources, which he said have accumulated extensive experience since Algeria’s independence.
Tebboune also ordered that educational institutions be kept away from ideological currents and what he described as pointless political conflicts. He said discussion within the sector should remain purely pedagogical.
He further called for no media promotion of changes concerning education, with all proposals to be discussed exclusively by the Council of Ministers, according to the council’s statement.
