The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, located in Smart Village, welcomed a high-level delegation from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. This visit was part of an initiative to enhance academic and research collaboration and facilitate the exchange of expertise between both institutions.
The visiting delegation included Ms. Donella Beaton, Vice President for Partnerships; Ms. Sarah Hellyer, Partnerships Manager; and Dr. Abdul Hadi Fawzi, Scottish Education Consultant in Glasgow. They were received by Professor Mona Fouad Mohamed Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. Haitham Al-Zomar, Head of the Mechatronics Department at the Technical Institute.
Professor Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Farag, President of the Arab Academy, emphasized that this visit aligns with the Academy’s strategy to expand international partnerships with prestigious academic institutions. This collaboration aims to enhance the educational and research processes, thereby equipping students and graduates with the skills necessary to compete in regional and international markets.
He also noted that the partnership with Robert Gordon University represents a significant step towards exchanging experiences in engineering, nanotechnology, and entrepreneurship, which supports innovation initiatives and prepares qualified personnel capable of leading development efforts.
The visit included a presentation of a documentary film showcasing the Academy’s evolution, followed by a tour of the engineering and technology laboratories, the Center of Excellence for Nanotechnology, and the Entrepreneurship Center. The delegation explored the advanced educational and research capabilities available at the Academy.

In their turn, the British delegation members expressed their admiration for the high standards achieved by the Academy, praising its modern infrastructure and facilities, as well as the exceptional educational and research environment it provides.
