On 4 June, 2022, at the beautiful setting of the Banchetto by Highline restaurant in Bankstown RSL, and serenaded by the enchanting voice and music of the talented Anthony Maarraoui, The Salvation Army Bankstown Community Centre hosted its Red Shield Appeal fundraiser night 2022.

Located at 42 Raymond Street in Bankstown, The Salvation Army Community Centre is managed by Captain Frank Wang and his team. Through their Op Shop and other fundraisers, they – along with other branches of The Salvation Army in Australia and the world – help people who are experiencing hardship or injustice. With a track record of more than 150 years in charity and service, The Salvation Army continues to support people in need all over the world, and the Red Shield Appeal is one way through which people can help support this noble organization.

Captain Frank Wang opened the event by thanking the attendees for their generous contributions to the success of the evening. This was followed by awards being given to various figures from The Salvation Army and Bankstown RSL for their support. Afterwards, Anthony Maarraoui kicked off the entertainment with a beautiful rendition of “My Way” followed by a variety of popular songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s.

The event was a resounding success and many people donated to The Salvation Army throughout the evening. All funds donated to Salvos will be used to help individuals in need in the Canterbury-Bankstown area as is the new directive of The Salvation Army, which is to spend funds generated in one area in the area itself where needed.
