According to ABC News, three people escaped after a suspicious fire gutted a two-storey home at Woodridge, in Logan south of Brisbane, overnight. Emergency services were called shortly after 9pm following reports that the house was engulfed in flames.

The people inside the home got out before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within an hour of arriving; ABC News reported it was put out about 45 minutes after crews reached the scene.

The house was extensively damaged, while neighbouring homes also sustained damage. Investigators remain at the property and have declared it a crime scene.

Hane White, who lives a few doors away, said she was at home with her family when the fire began and feared it could spread to the adjoining property. She said the fire was “too much” and that she ran back inside to pick up her granddaughter before leaving.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 9pm and 9:30pm and has dashcam footage or CCTV to come forward.
