Three people have been charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Chloe Watson Dransfield in Leeds. Chloe, from Gomersal, was found unconscious on Kennerleigh Avenue in Austhorpe shortly before 06:00 GMT on Saturday and died in hospital a short time later. According to BBC News, the accused include 18-year-old Kayla Smith, 19-year-old Archie Rycroft, and a 17-year-old boy whose identity is protected by law.

All three suspects appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court, where Smith and Rycroft were remanded into custody. The 17-year-old was remanded into secure accommodation until their next hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday. Rycroft also faces separate charges of burglary and theft from previous incidents.

Chloe’s family has expressed their grief over her tragic loss, describing her as a “beautiful princess”. Her mother shared heartfelt sentiments about Chloe being her best friend and a cherished family member. Floral tributes have been left at the scene in Austhorpe, honoring the young girl.

Chloe was a pupil at BBG Academy, where principal Danielle Williams remarked on the profound impact of her death on the school community. Chloe was remembered as a devoted family member and a loyal friend, leaving a significant void in the lives of those who knew her. Local MPs have also expressed their condolences, urging the community to support Chloe’s family during this difficult time.
