Three-time Sydney Kings NBL champion Jaylin Galloway is set to play for the Bankstown Bruins this season. He will join forces alongside NBL veteran Jason Cadee, who has also signed on as a Bruin for 2025. Cadee, now retired from the NBL is back playing for the Bruins where the former Adelaide 36er played as a junior.
Galloway is currently recovering from an injury but the Bruins hope to have him back playing at the Anzac Day home game, where they will face the Inner West Bulls, or the following week’s match. Despite his injury concerns, the Bruins are excited to have both Galloway and Cadee playing as Bruins.
The Bruins managed to kick off their 2025 NBL One East campaign to a solid start with an 86-70 win over Norths Bears. Bankstown Bruins CEO Christian Gobolos was pleased with the win. “I think It’s fantastic. It’s a great start to the season, it builds confidence in terms of what’s gonna happen now from the men’s perspective,” Gobolos highlighted.
The Bruins men’s side finished eighth last season and made it to the finals. They have made some changes over the off-season to improve from last season and push for a top-four finish. Gobolos said that with Bruins men’s head coach Curtis Sardi in his second year of coaching, he has some experience under his belt to develop his style and strategies.
On the women’s side, the team missed the top eight last season, but with a new coach at the helm, the season could turn out differently for them. The Bruins now travel up to Hornsby to face the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Spiders at the Brickpit on April 5.
