According to ABC News, three women died in separate domestic violence-related incidents across New South Wales within 24 hours. The victims were aged 90, 70 and 23, with incidents reported in Bondi Beach, Mole River and Kooringal.

Emergency services were called to a Bondi Beach unit at about 5:15pm on Saturday, where they found a 90-year-old woman with stab wounds to her torso. She died at the scene after being treated by paramedics. A 47-year-old man known to her was arrested, charged with domestic violence-related murder, refused bail and due to appear before Bail Division Local Court on Sunday.

At Mole River, west of Tenterfield, police responded to reports of a domestic violence incident at a property on Ironbark Road at about 9:30pm on Saturday. Following the arrest of a 37-year-old man, officers found a body believed to be that of a 70-year-old woman at a neighbouring property. She had not been formally identified. A house on the property was partially damaged by fire. The man was charged with murder, refused bail and is due in court on Monday.

In Kooringal, Wagga Wagga, police were called to a Ziegler Avenue home at about 11:45am on Saturday. A 23-year-old woman had been fatally stabbed. A 31-year-old man was later arrested and charged with domestic violence-related murder. Police will allege the pair were in a domestic relationship.

Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane said the deaths were horrifying and that women of every age were still not safe in their homes. Minister for Work Health and Safety Sophie Cotsis called the loss of three women in a day “absolutely tragic” and said domestic violence prevention required action across communities and all levels of government.
