The Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sydney organized a major event with representatives from various Australian businesses and companies. This initiative is part of the consulate’s efforts to enhance economic cooperation between Egypt and Australia, as well as to encourage Australian companies to invest in Egypt and explore the available opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.
The event was attended by Australian businessmen and investors from sectors such as finance, mining, energy, health, education, real estate, and renewable energy. Additionally, representatives from several Egyptian entities participated virtually, including the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, the Economic Zone of the Golden Triangle, and the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources, along with the Chairperson of the Egyptian-Australian Business Council.
Ms. Reem Zahraan, the Consul General of Egypt in Sydney, emphasized that the meeting is part of the consulate’s efforts to expand communication channels with the Australian business community, promote investment opportunities in Egypt, and strengthen economic partnerships between the two friendly nations. She noted that this event marks the beginning of a series of activities that the consulate plans to organize between representatives of the business community and Australian companies, aimed at exploring cooperation opportunities and supporting Australian investment in Egypt. She highlighted the existence of untapped potential for collaboration and the substantial room available to enhance economic partnerships, expand trade and investment, and create more beneficial and diverse economic cooperation.
The event featured detailed presentations from representatives of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, the Economic Zone of the Golden Triangle, and the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources, focusing on the investment opportunities in Egypt, the incentive packages available to investors, and the economic developments taking place within the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Reem Zahraan reaffirmed that the consulate will continue to follow up on the outcomes of the meeting and work towards facilitating communication between investors and relevant authorities in both countries, with the aim of transforming discussions into practical cooperation pathways and productive results in the upcoming phase.
