A 15-year-old girl has tragically died after encountering difficulties while swimming at Formby beach. Chiedza Nyanjowa, from Cheshire, was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in critical condition following the incident on Bank Holiday Monday. She died earlier on Saturday, according to Merseyside Police.

Emergency services responded to calls regarding safety concerns at the beach located on Albert Road around 15:30 BST. Chiedza’s family expressed their sorrow, stating she would be “greatly missed and remembered for her kind spirit”. They revealed that she aspired to be a nurse in the future to help others.

A report regarding the incident has been submitted to the Sefton Coroner’s office for further investigation. According to BBC News, this incident has drawn attention to safety measures at popular swimming locations during busy holiday periods.
